Tuesday was not a big spending day (unless you count my daughter's soccer shin guards that I actually had to go into the mall to buy AND pay full price for). Can't win 'em all I suppose. But I made up a little. On the way home we stopped by the neighborhood Dollar General. I like the Carmex in the tube (think medicated petroleum jelly for your lips) but I am not a fan of the medicine like taste, even of the berry flavored. So on this trip to the store they had a Chapstick medicated tube. I wasn't out of my Carmex but the 50% off sticker caught my attention. It was marked down to $0.98 and then half off but because it would not ring up properly I actually got it for $0.46. Not a bad deal but the big win as on the receipt. I got a $5 off coupon for Dollar General and a buy one get one free coupon for a Whopper at Burger King. I try to stay away from too much fast food because of my allergies to MSG, but on an occasional weekend food run (and with 2 teen daughters who like junk food) it should be a decent lunch savings. I am not tallying into today's savings the $5 coupon or free whopper...I'll add them in when I redeem them. All in all...i am thrilled with my $.0.46 Chapstick deal and it does NOT have the medicine taste!
Chapstick savings: $0.52! Shopping cost (less mileage): $0.46 (and less the trip to the mall for soccer shin guards)
